After the success of the shepherd’s hut we decided to build a second hut, this time nestled amongst oak trees and overlooking the water.
Sip your freshly ground morning coffee from bed watching the wild ducks and moorhens busy on the pond, with fresh eggs from the resident rescue hens for breakfast. In the evening you can enjoy a glass of champagne in the outdoor bath whilst supper is cooking on the fire pit. The hut is fully kitted-out with everything you might need for a short break to rest, recharge and reconnect.

Star gaze from your luxury king size bed complete with laid back linen bedding, or enjoy the view of the pond and ancient oak (which has stood for more than 500 years!) through the fully glazed french doors. In built projector screen for those cosy film nights in bed with the log burner roaring - a selection of movie classics is provided.
Under bed storage and coat hooks. (Please note, this is the only storage so best to pack lightly!). A selection of books and games are also provided.

Hot shower, underfloor heating, luxury scandi flushless loo, towels, bath robes, hairdryer and gorgeous eco products which we refill to minimise plastic waste. Sustainable plastic free toilet roll included.

Fully equipped kitchen including a fridge with mini freezer, gas hob, oven, coffee grinder and V60 filter, and all all utensils and cooking essentials. Complimentary welcome hamper with the essentials and a few surprises! In built dining table and chairs that can be pulled down and tucked away when not in use.

Luxury cast iron roll top bath nestled amongst the trees. Keep warm by the firepit and cook supper on the grill. Comfortable seating and table for al-fresco dining. Parasol provided in the summer. Guests are also welcome to use the jetty and decking area to relax and of course can always take a dip in our refreshing wild swimming lake or enjoy a private sauna overlooking the lake (additional charge applies).
Yoga mats are provided.

THE SAUNA
Enjoy a wood fired sauna session overlooking the pond. The perfect spot to take a breath and contemplate life before braving a cold dip. Extra charge applies.
WILD SWIMMING
Take a dip in our wild swimming lake. If you are new to cold water therapy but would like to know what all the hype is about we can arrange a private breathwork and cold water immersion intro with a Wim Hof certified instructor.
YOGA/PADDLE BOARD YOGA
We can offer guests a private yoga by the lake or a paddle board yoga session.
COLD WATER IMMERSION
We are delighted to be able to offer a cold water theory masterclass with a qualified swim instructor where you will learn everything you need to know about cold water swimming safety before experiencing a cold water dip/ swim in our private lake.

We love dogs at the Lodge and have our own Romanian rescue dog called Hatty who is quite the handful! We allow small to medium well behaved dog to stay in the hut (at a fee of £20 per stay) and can provide a dog bed, bowls and treats. We just ask that dogs be kept on lead on the land as we have free roaming rescue hens (we can provide a long lead if needed). There is a bridleway accessible from our entrance perfect for morning walks or just 10 mins away you can access miles of coastline.

The hut can accommodate two adults and a babe in arms. Please note there is not enough space in the hut for a travel cot so suitable for co-sleeping only.

This includes bacon and sausages from our local butcher, free-range Lodge eggs, tomatoes (homegrown when in season), mushrooms and local apple juice (we can swap out with vegetarian/vegan options).

If you are coming to the Lodge for a celebration we offer the most gorgeous celebration picnic hamper and (weather permitting) we can also set up a private picnic area for you by the ancient oak tree or waterside by the pond with some spectacular views. It includes a bottle of local Essex sparkling wine and choice of afternoon tea/ cheese & charcuterie/ or breakfast platter with croissants and seasonal fruits.
